Who We Are
Howdy! I'm Evan
Native to Kansas, I’ve lived in Colorado for a decade with no regrets, drawn by my love for the mountains. My allegiance to all things Kansas still runs deep, most specifically: barbecue and sports.
Unlike most, I briefly pursued agency life after college, but quickly realized I craved independence. My meticulousness and pursuit of perfection pushed me to solve that puzzle early on.
Surprisingly, my passion for design led me to the world of web. I love it and continuously develop my passion for digital design and programming. While my focus is primarily focused on web, I’m heavily skilled in graphic design and branding.
Why "Pexl"?
“Pexl” is a play on the word “pixel”. If you look closely at our logo, you will notice that the palette represented in our icon is both CMYK, as well as RGB colors. The reason for this is because our work is carried out both digitally and in print.
Much like our work, we wanted a brand that stood out. We got to thinking when we began considering a name for our company, and we realized that no matter what, at some point, all of our work is centered around pixels.
Though we create graphic art that is both digital and print, it is always designed on a computer, and, at one point or another, pixels represent that process.
RGB
The color mode used in digital displays, including monitors, digital cameras, and televisions. Varying levels of red, green, and blue combine with one another in order to create the images we see on screens.
CMYK
The color mode used in typical print processes, which refers to “cyan, magenta, yellow, and “key” (or, black) colors of ink which are combined to create the various colors you see in printed material.

Frequently asked questions
Can you carry out a branding and web project simultaneously?
Certainly! In fact, we’d prefer it.
Of course, we understand that sometimes one thing comes before another. We do find that the creative process for a brand overhaul is typically the most successful if all done simultaneously, but, occasionally, there are constraints, and we understand that.
What platform do you develop websites on?
Nine times out of ten, we develop websites on WordPress. The reason for this is because WordPress is completely customizable with zero limitations. Rarely, we will have a client that will request that we develop their website on a platform such as Squarespace or Wix. We strongly recommend against this because of the limitations that these platforms present.
Often times, we are even asked to transfer a website from a platform such as Squarespace or Wix over to WordPress because, though the client already has a website on the afore mentioned platform, they need the ability to integrate more customizable functionality because their business has expanded, or, they simply want new features that do not exist outside of WordPress. Therefore, if starting with a fresh new website, we strongly recommend staying on the WordPress platform.
How much will it cost to build my website?
No two websites are the same. Before we can accurately quote a cost associated with your website, we take an in-depth dive with you over a meeting that explores all of the facets and functionalities that your website will need. This, in turn, helps us better understand not only the cost, but the amount of time that the creative design process, as well as the development process will take. Then, we can accurately give you a cost associated with the entire website design, development, and launch process.
What if we need changes or additions after our site has been developed and launched?
We strongly recommend to all of our customers going the route of a quarterly retainer. We have a number of ongoing web clients which we have worked with for years who are on retainer for various reasons. The main reason being that websites need constant maintenance, even if they are not additions to the existing site or design.
Quarterly website retainers cover the cost of behind-the-scenes website maintenance, plugin updates, backups, and more. They also cover smaller updates that the client may request; such as new images, content additions, and slider updates (just to name a few). Certain updates may be outside of the scope of a retainer, such as adding new pages, or integrating new features to the site.
Depending on the needs of the client and the ongoing necessary maintenance each quarter, each potential retainer is discussed with the client at the end of the website launch and a cost is associated to the needs of the client.
Will we have the ability to edit our site on our own after it is launched?
We do make it possible to make edits on your own. One thing we typically experience is that most of our clients eventually end up wanting us to make the changes for them. It is easier to do, and edits of this kind usually fall under the umbrella of an ongoing quarterly retainer.
However, we can make a WordPress account that allows the client to make simple edits to text and images. That way, if they routinely have new text to add, blogs, etc., they do not have to contact us each and every time they need to add something to their site.
We also take routine backups of the site so that, should anything ever go wrong on your end, we can simply restore the website to it’s prior state.
Are you able to help with hosting?
Absolutely. If you have a domain, we will typically point your nameservers towards hosting with a company we trust that has been tried and true for years.
We also prefer to manage your hosting so that we always have access to the backend of your website, and so that your servers are fast with unlimited traffic parameters.
We can also assist you with email setup and installation on your devices.
